Readwise is NOT a read-later app
Readwise is an integration tool for syncing highlights collected from multiple platforms to notes apps. However, Readwise Reader IS a read-later app.
Choices
Watch out Chinese content
- Some content from Chinese platforms can’t be dealt with properly.
- Chinese fonts are not supported in some apps.
- Raindrop.io
- Claims itself to be an “all-in-one bookmark manager”, not quite the same thing as read-later apps
- Supports annotation feature is more of a “bi-product”.
- Extremely helpful for saving heterogeneous contents.
- Collection sharing feature
- Pocket
- Claims to be “your own private corner of the web to spend quality time with great articles.”
- Has curated news feed feature.
- Does NOT support annotation! Only one highlighter color.
- No folder support. Tags are available
- Instapaper is similar to Pocket, but looks like it
has less features, the official website of it is also less intriguing.
- Also supports curated news feed
- Supports folder, but no sub-folder allowed.
- Speed-reading feature
- Matter
- Readwise Reader
- Is builtin in Readwise.
- This deals poorly with Zhihu answers.
- Cubox
- Is developed by Chinese team.
- Most importantly, it’s based on Swift UI (nice)
- BEST in terms of UI/UX!
- Is the only app has support for Chinese fonts.
- Supports forwarding WeChat articles (useful)
- mymind
- Smaller user base compared to Raindrop.io
- Pricing…
