Notes Organizing Principles

This note documents the principles to follow throughout the whole notes organizing systems.

Golden Rules

  • Use built-in features whenever possible.
    • Use tags whenever possible, don’t define metadata.
  • Use universal features whenever possible.
  • Don’t be persnickety about all-in-one.
  • Maximizing compatibility without sacrificing ease of use.
  • Distinguish the things that wrote and things that you took note of.

Sections

What retrieved the same way, used the same way, shall stay in the same

place.

  • Emphasis - How to emphasize things, e.g. bold, italic, etc.
  • Categorization - How to categorize things, e.g. tag, folder, sections, type.
  • Naming
